  Do you feel like travelling?, in my opinion is one of the best ways to celebrate and open the new year. So is because of that I have decided to write you about travelling.  Maybe you are thinking how to start 2014, planning where to travel and  making up your mind about places all over the world worth discovering. It is why I want to share with you different experiences and places from my last summer holidays for you to get ideas! :). Today´s post is all about the last part of my trip ( you can check the first part in Budapest here and in Vienna in two parts, click for the first one here and the second one here)  

  ¿Que te parece si viajamos?, creo que es la mejor forma de celebrar y de abrir este Nuevo Año. Así que he decidido que quería hablarte de viajar. Puede que al empezar 2014, estes pensando en las experiencias y lugares del mundo que quieres descubrir  durante este año; y por eso hoy quiero compartir contigo diferentes lugares que formaron parte de mi viaje del verano pasado, para darte ideas de posibles destinos para ti. Ésta que te cuento es la última parte de mi viaje de vacaciones, (puedes ver la primera parte en Budapest aqui, y en Viena en dos partes, pinchando, la primera aqui y la segunda aqui).

Before talking about the next stop, and in a way to express you my best wishes to open this new year, I want to share with you a fashion campaign that is still on my mind. This campaign is about People who pave the way. People who have attitude and a dream. And this is exactly what I wish you: Attitude to open your dream box and feeling like having and sharing it! :).

Antes de contarte nuestro próximo destino, y como una forma de expresarte mis mejores deseos para que abras este nuevo año, quiero compartir contigo una campaña que vi hace varios meses, y que aún sigue en mi cerebro. Esta campaña es sobre Gente que abre camino. Personas que tienen actitud, ganas y un sueño. Y eso es lo que te deseo: Actitud para abrir la caja de tus sueños y ganas para tenerlos y compartirlos.

My proposal is a three days roadtrip in Austria, from Salzburg to Innsbruck.

After having a great time in Vienna, my friend Camila and me took the train to meet my cousins Paco and Rocio in Salzburg. Salzburg surprised myself, I have heard about it before, but I have never imagined that way. It is a city with a beautiful surroundings, nature and really charming. Do you imagine how amazing can be now snow-covered?. It seems to me that is a great place for a winter trip. Here you can find some pictures taken by Rocio ( Thanks!, :) ). Después de pasar un tiempo genial en Vienna, mi amiga Camila y yo cogimos un tren para encontrarnos con mis primos Paco y Rocio en Salzburgo. Salzburgo me sorprendio, ya había oido hablar antes de esta ciudad, pero nunca me imagine que fuera así. Es una ciudad rodeada de naturaleza y con mucho encanto. ¿Te imaginas lo bonita que tiene que estar ahora, todo nevado?. Creo que también es un muy buen destino para invierno. What I enjoy the most was just walking, exploring new places such as the Cathedral...  You can walk around, going to a hill, the castle. And also discovering the small streets where you will find restaurants and nice shops. And if your option is going on summer, take the chance and enjoy the medieval market (it was there at our time).

Lo que mas me gusto fue simplemente caminar y descubrir lugares como la catedral...  Puedes hacer un camino para subir a una colina donde se ve toda la ciudad, el castillo y los alrededores. Y luego también recorrer las callecitas y rincones donde encontrarás restaurantes y tiendas muy lindas. Y si vas en verano, quizás también puedas disfrutar del mercadillo medieval, que justo estaba cuando nosotros estuvimos :).

After a day in Salzburg, the next one was all about nature, exploring the surroundings. We visited two really nice places that I highly recommend (note that both of them are closed at winter time).

Después de pasar el día en Salzburgo, el segundo día fue día de naturaleza, y de explorar los alrededores. Fuimos a dos lugares que te recomiendo y que me encantaron (ten en cuenta que ambos estan cerrados durante el invierno).

Eisriesemwelt: The Ice Cave/ La Cueva de hielo Eisriesemwelt: 

How to say... Awesome, yes, this is the word :). It is great because you can get walking til the cave entrance. My suggestion is to buy the combined ticket, half way walking and half way by cable car, with this option, all the route should take you like three  hours in a relaxing mood to enjoy the views and the inside the cave (by the way, keep warm with some clothes, inside is quite cold, hehe ;) )

Increibles, me parecieron alucinantes... Esta genial porque puedes hacer una ruta caminando hasta que llegas a la entrada de la cueva. Te recomiendo que a la hora de comprar las entradas, escojas la opción de mitad andando y mitad en el teleférico, con esta opción y desde el parking te llevará unas tres horas tranquilamente disfrutar de las vistas y del interior de la cueva :) (abrígate un poquito que dentro de la cueva hace rasca, jeje, ;) ).

After enjoying the wonderful nature, you can drive your way not that far to get at Hohe Tauern National Park where you can admire the  fifth highest waterfall in the world,  called Krimml Waterfalls. I love the ride til get there and then the pathway to reach almost the top of the waterfall.

Y después de disfrutar de lo maravilloso del interior de la naturaleza, puedes coger el coche e ir al parque nacional Hohe Tauern cerquita de allí, donde puedes admirar la quinta catarata mas alta del mundo. Su nombre es Krimml Waterfalls. Me gusto el camino en coche hasta llegar allí y después el paseo por el parque hasta alcanzar una de las partes mas altas de la catarata.

After a day walking in nature, my proposal is keep moving to Alpbach, a beautiful village. On the way to Alpbach you will amazed by the mountains, the valleys and the little village cross by. Once we arrived we had dinner  (Austrian food) in a nice terrace in front of the church. While we were eating, such a coincidence people celebrated on the street a popular festival with music included (a picture below :) ).

Y después de caminar y disfrutar de un dia en la naturaleza, te recomiendo que sigas con el coche dirección a un pueblo llamado Alpbach. El camino hasta llegar es maravilloso, es bajar las montañas, observando los valles, y cruzando pueblitos del tirol austriaco. En el pueblo estuvimos cenando comida austriaca en una terraza enfrente de la Iglesia y justo coincidio con la celebración de una fiesta que recorría las calles del pueblo,  con banda de música incluida (te dejo alguna foto :) ).

You can take advantage of being there and  book accommodation in a farm :). 

Puedes aprovechar y como alojamiento puedes reservar en una granja, hay varias en los alrededores :).

The third day we drove to Innsbruck. Innsbruck is Tirol capital and I really like it because of the surroundings :). If you love sky and sport costume, this is your place! :).

Y para el tercer día de viaje, cogimos el coche para ir a Innsbruck. Innsbruck es la capital del Tirol Austriaco y al igual que Salzburgo, me encanto por los alrededores :). Si eres amante del esqui y de la ropa de deporte, éste es tu lugar!, :).

Here the end of the roadtrip and the last part of my summer trip :).

Note: for what it´s worth, I came back to Spain from Munich, you can easily get there taking a train from Innsbruck to Munich Airport).

Y aqui llega el final, tanto de éste viaje en carretera como de mi viaje de vacaciones :). 

Nota: Si te sirve de ayuda, yo para volver a España cogi un tren de Innsbruck a Munich, que esta muy cerca y desde alli volé a Madrid :).

An afternoon in Vienna / Una tarde en Viena

After a great morning plan (check here), we can keep moving to Museum Quartier area, it is just one metro station far away (Line U2; also you can get there on foot or by tram). You´ll find many museums and art galleries, among others, my suggestion is Leopold Museum. 

Y después de disfrutar durante la mañana por la zona de Karlsplatz (pincha aqui para ver), nos dirigimos a la zona de Museum Quartier, a una sola parada en la linea U2 de metro (otras opciones son ir en tranvia o caminando)... Puedes encontrar numerosos museos y galerias, y entre todos ellos, yo te recomiendo el Museo Leopold.

There are not only work art from Klimt but also from another Austrian artist called Schiele. He is a very popular one and has a really interesting art career as well as a short but worth life. From Klimt catch my attention and interest Attersee, see picture below:

At that time, there was a temporary exhibition, really impressive. It was an exhibition by Manfred Bockelmann, about  "portraits of children and youths who fell victim to the Nazis´regin of terror. With this the artist seeks to creat signposts against forgetting".

Además, en la fecha en la que fui había una exposición temporal que me impacto.  Era una exposición del artista Manfred Bockelmann, sobre retratos de niños y jóvenes que fueron víctimas del regimen nazi y cuyo objetivo era poner nombre y cara a esas personas para ser reconocidas y no caer en el olvido.

Before leaving, what about visit the museum´s shop?. For me is such a great idea, I enjoy reading books, checking notesbooks and much more, items with a really creative point of view.

Antes de salir del museo puedes aprovechar para pasarte por su tienda. Para mi es una parte chula cuando voy a un museo, me gusta echar un vistazo a los libros, cuaderno de notas, postales y encuentro articulos creativos que no se suelo ver en otras tiendas.

What do you think about walking around?. Behind Museum Quartier area, there is a district with paving streets and loads of young desinger´s shops. And walking I discovered a small workshop where was working the artist Alexandra Gasteiger. Her smile and charms invited me to came on in. I loved the enthusiasm and passion she shown, talking about her art pieces and the creative process. What she does and the love she feels about it catch my eye . She designs jewelry made by recycled skateboard, making the most of the texture and colour scheme, cool, isn´t it?. Keep looking her website and pieces´ picture below! :) : 

¿Y que te parece si ahora callejeamos?.  En la zona detrás de Museum Quartier, hay un distrito de calles empedradas y lleno de tiendas de diseñadores jovenes. Y caminando descubrí una tiendecita/taller en el que estaba trabajando la artista Alexandra Gasteiger. Me invito a pasar su sonrisa y simpatía. Me encanto el entusiasmo y la pasión con la que me contó como creaba sus obras. Me llamo mucho la atención lo que hacía y el amor que le dedicaba. Ella diseña joyas recicladas a partir de la madera de los monopatines utilizados por su pareja, aprovechando las diferentes texturas y tonalidades; mola, ¿verdad?. Now that is getting dark, I have no better idea that rent a bike to go by Danube edge, what do you think?. It is easy to rent one in many places around the city, and it is a great way to enjoy the city. And bike riding we can get the next two places of our plan to finish a Perfect Day in Vienna.

Y ahora que esta atardeciendo, no se me ocurre mejor plan que ir a dar una vuelta en bici por las orillas del Danubio, ¿como lo ves?. Es muy fácil alquilar una bici en distintos puntos de la ciudad y es una forma diferente de disfrutar y conocer mas lugares en Viena. Y en bici podemos llegar a los dos siguientes sitios del plan para terminar un dia genial.

I discovered these places with my friend Camila and her Austrian and German friends. The first one, Sand in the city is a beach bar in the city center where you can have some dinner outdoor. Do you imagine enjoy beach atmosphere in Austria?, Try! :).

Estos dos sitios los descubri con mi amiga Camila y sus amigos, y me encantaron. Sand in the city es el primero, y es un lugar con una especie de chiringuitos de playa con arena incluida, donde puedes picar algo y disfrutar del ambiente playero en plena Austria, ¿te imaginas?.

Now we take the bike to ride til a really cool place by Danube edge, called Telavit Beach. You can find a lounge beach bar, all in white, with dj and a beautiful river view.

Cogemos la bici de nuevo para seguir por las orillas del Danubio hasta Telavit Beach. Es un sitio muy cool, ambientado también como un lounge de playa, decorado todo en blanco, con dj y con vistas al rio.
